Mount Falcon

I was lucky to stay in this beautiful hotel twice last year, the Mount Falcon (for more on hotel and its history click here) was originally built to gain a Women’s hand in marriage, just south of Ballina beside the the banks of the River Moy and set in lovely wooded walks and a stocked fish pond.
These two pics taken over the Christmas
In order to impress his bride 1871 Utred Knox commissioned the most fashionable architect in the British Isles at the time; James Franklin Fuller. James Fuller is the same architect who designed Kylemore Abbey, parts of Ashford Castle and Farmleigh House in The Phoenix Park. Mount Falcon is the only example of a private residence that James Franklin Fuller ever designed in Ireland.
They are now burried together in this lovely graveyard
The rest of these photos taken last May
Beside the graveyard you can explore a megalithic tomb
There is also 3km of lovely woodland trails to explore.
