Creevykeel Court Tomb, Co Sligo

This court tomb is almost 60 metres in lenght and dates back to the neolithic period, 4000-2500 BCE. During excavation they found pottery etc from that period. They also found evidence of Iron smelting built into the side of the larger court.

On the entrance to the site you can see the bush pictured below, there is a practice in pagan worship sites and faerie trees of tying cloth strips to branches in the hope that prayers wishes would be answered.

Thanks madam I think you might be a bit kind as the site is quite tight and I could not get a good overall shot.
