Grand Canal Lock, Kildare

This is one of the many locks on the Grand Canal it was on a quite country lane south of Prosperous/Clane* If you look again at the top picture you can see this guy, I think he said his name was Frank. If you look again and look closely along the road, the tiny fleck of white his wife, is the reason for his wait, its true the secret to a long life together is some alone time:) This was not posed etc, he was comfortably sitting like this when I stopped.
Also if you open the picture by clicking on it you can see a barge on the left hand side of the canal, this is being used to store material dredged from the canal. The other side of the bridge, I don't know if this was the original type of bridge that was here in the past, but I cannot imagine that the Barges could be too highly loaded. *These two places are neighbouring villages and the local witticism sometimes repeated to visitors, "the place where a Prosperous woman can meet a Clane man", where Clane and Clean sound similar in a strong country accent.

Awh, I loved the photo of Frank. :D

It takes the picture to a new level when you tell the story behind - why he's sitting there! Sweet that he's waiting for his wife. ^^

I also liked the perspective on the first one!

:O, I often tell a story of the places I take pictures, mostly history etc, I will try to make them more interesting, you not like the one on the Faeries?.
New phone my first camera still works (tho still acts up) but I was changing vehicles all day and hadn't it with me at the time. LG Cookie with 3.0 mega pixels, not as good camera as on the LG Viewty, but an ol phone BTW.

I had forgot to mention the Barge on the left hand side if you open the picture, not a great shot though

Yeah, I know you do, it was meant as a compliment! I like history. :D But it makes it even more interesting when you've got a human to connect it to, if you know what I mean? :P
