Monaghan

Today was kinda overcast and there was not much to shoot but this is all that I did not deleteNot sure what this growth is on the tree but I thought it was unusual

I am afraid that this reminded me of the Simpsons when the old folk at the nursing home were promised the most duck filled pond. This is in Monaghan town.

Ooh, pretty ...

Is that some kind of moss growing on the tree?

only noticed your comment "Not sure what this growth is on the tree but I thought it was unusual" not sure why I bother, ;D

OMG, do I have to like totally spell it out for you??

Did you in your observations perceive anything that might indicate that perchance this strange growth might be moss??

Sheesh ... >:-=

Teasing not sure what it was, but if pushed on the matter which I appear to be, In my non scientific opinion with absolutely no formal training in the areas of Biology, Bryology or Botany,
my findings were thus
the plant was either
(i)a moss,
(ii) lichen
(iii) hemiparasite (eg mistletoe).
If a gun was put to my head or if lives depended on it I would venture to guess either a fruticose or foliose bark Lichen.
Does this suffice Madam, :-)

I wasted precious moments of my life looking at the differences between lichens, moss and parasitic plants to get you off my back ;P.

It wasn't wasted, you learned something. You never know when that bit of info might come in handy. (Probably never, but who knows. ;-)
