Delvin, Westmeath

This might come across as mean but the best thing about Delvin is in these photographs, this is where I was today. As the old joke goes the best part of it is the road out of it. It is a dead little village, and luckily all of these things are close together.
pictured below is an old Ringfort, Delvin Castle built in the 15th century, an Old church and the newer Delvin Castle

Mm, true - those are stunning indeed! Particularly the one where the castle is mirrored in the water.

Ah, so many places to see...

Delvin is quiet but it is certainly not dead. How many other villages or towns are you aware of that are building sports and other facilities during the recession? Delvin had been neglected but times are changing, so please keep your ignorant comments to yourself.

Kudos on the building, have you read the comments they all love the Castles etc.
You will have to admit for a passerby who stops there is very little to do in Delvin at the moment, it is a lovely place to pass through but besides golf there is little after looking at the castle and church ruin.
If you can make suggestions on things to do I will post them with the pictures.
