Sligo

This is taken from Rosses point in Sligo if it wasn't for the Mobile homes and caravans I could have got in Knockanarea mountain in the picture, the final resting place of Queen Maeve, She was infamous for a battle with Ulster over a Bull , all because the king had a superior bull to hers. There were huge losses either side and in the end both bulls died, and the outcome of the battle is unclear. A view of Mullaghmore with the little fishing boats strung out along the bay. This used to be the summer home of Lord Henry Mountbatten, a relation to the throne of England. He was blown up by the IRA in 1978 on his boat after taking his boat on a trip to Donegal. This Castle sits on 3000 acres, this shot is taken from the west side of the castle. This shot is taken north west of the castle, with a shot of Benbulben in the background. Benbulben is the resting place of Diarmuid and Grainne the great lovers from Irish mythology and at the foot of the mountain WB Yeats the Nobel award winning poet is buried. A view facing north west from the same location as the last picture. The water breaking off the coast further along the coast with the mountains across the bay. Early morning bathers, if you cannot see clearly open the picture. I had a laugh I hope you do too!

I love the drama of that shot of the waves beating on the shore! It's the castle in you see in the background there, right?
